FREE TOOL — PRINT FILE CHECKER
Will it print sharp? Check it here.
Drop in a logo, photo or print-ready PDF, pick what you are printing, and see whether it will hold up at that size. Free, and private: your file never leaves your device.
What it checks
- Resolution at your print size. Whether the pixels you have will print sharp at the size you picked, with bleed.
- Shape. Whether your file matches the proportions of the piece, so nothing gets cropped or stretched.
- Bleed on PDFs. Whether the page is built at the finished size or at the size with bleed.
- Vector or raster. SVGs and PDFs can hold vector art that scales to any size. We flag embedded photos and live text that should be outlined.
- Color and transparency. RGB vs CMYK JPEGs, and transparent backgrounds for apparel.
- File size. Our quote form takes files up to 8 MB. Bigger files go by a Dropbox or Google Drive link.
This is a quick check, not a full preflight. Every order still gets a free design review before anything prints. Templates with bleed are on the print templates page.
Questions people ask
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The checker runs entirely in your browser. Your file is never sent to us or anyone else until you attach it to a quote request yourself.
What resolution do I need for print?
300 DPI at the final print size for paper, stickers and apparel. For yard signs, banners and other large format, 100–150 DPI at full size is plenty.
What if my file fails?
Send it anyway with your quote request. Every order gets a free design review, and we will tell you exactly what to fix or whether we can fix it for you.
Can the checker read Illustrator or Photoshop files?
Not directly. Export a PDF, PNG or JPG to check it here, or send the native file with your quote and we will look at it.
If it can be printed, we make it.
